As I near the completion of my new/old CD, Songs From the Beginning, I
thought it timely to make it my Thursday December 16, live stream. We’ll
play a couple of actual MP3s from the CD and I’ll tell you all about it.
Some of these are songs that were used to audition for the Nameless
Coffeehouse in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA in 1978. As I moved into
the Fenway area of Boston, I had inadvertently dropped myself in the
middle of three major music schools, The New England Conservatory,
Berklee College of Music, and the Boston Conservatory. I can trace
practically all of the lines of my life from that street level audition and the
talented, educated musicians that I met in that small vortex in Boston who
patiently heard my passion over my ignorance. They became my teachers
and friends. For me, these songs are filled with their laughter, their
care, and their influence.
